Plastique will become the name of the ‘Freak of the Week’, Bette, when she is later recruited into Tess’s team. It refers to her pyrotechnic power.
Story
Clark’s first day at work gets off to a bang when a bus blows up outside the Daily Planet. Clark helps the passengers and then works with Lois to figure out what happened. Meanwhile, Chloe has taken one of the victims, a street kid named Bette, under her wing, encouraged by the ‘charismatic paramedic’, Davis Bloome. But Bette turns out to have caused the bus explosion in an attempt to get away from Tess. Clark puts the pieces together just in time to save Chloe, and tries to convince Bette that her abilities don’t make her a freak. But after she is turn over to the police, Bette is approached by Tess who is recruiting members for a LuthorCorp super team. Chloe resolves to help save the meteor infected by becoming a counselor.( Read more... )Current Mood:  grateful

Story
In the Arctic, LuthorCorp is searching for Lex, and are interrupted by the Justice team (led by Oliver) looking for Clark. Meanwhile, Clark is being held in a Russian work camp and tries to escape several times before Oliver arrives to buy his way out. Regan uses Chloe to track down the Justice team and then uses a serum on Oliver to force him to find out what happened to Lex. Oliver goes after Clark, who with some help from Lois has freed Chloe. When Clark says he doesn’t know what happened to Lex, Ollie shoots him twice, the second time through the heart. Chloe tries to use her healing power to help, but the ability has vanished. J’Onn arrives just in time to fly Clark close to the sun, which restores Clark’s powers while burning out his own. At the episode’s end, Clark resolves to make some changes in his life and later advises Lois that he will be working with her at the Daily Planet. ( Read more... )

Lex has located antiques expert Milash, to whom he gives the cryptograph for examination. Lex is stabbed by an intruder who also carves his chest with Kryptonian symbols, which lead Clark and Chloe to the St. Christopher cathedral in Montreal. The last Veritas survivor, Edward Teague (husband of Genevieve and father of Jason) tracks Clark there, and first venerates him, but finding him unwilling to kill Lex (his "greatest adversary") and accept his destiny, prepares to offer him as a sacrifice to protect the world.
